Welfare Wednesday

Welcome back to Aprils edition of Welfare Wednesday!

Our second cross training suggestions for your speedy runners is…

Rowing! 🚣🏻

It is often hard to convince runners to take part in a different type of cardio activity, however just like your yoga and strength it can make you an even better runner.

Rowing is a low impact form of training which utilises all the major muscle groups including your legs, core, back and arms. Rowing isn’t just about strong arms to pull the handle, it requires you to push with your legs, however it doesn’t have as much impact as running.

So why rowing?

🚣🏻 Leg dominant

🚣🏻 Low impact

🚣🏻 Promotes healthy joint flexion

🚣🏻 Time, distance and intensity are easily translatable

🚣🏻 Brilliant cardio

So pop down to your local gym or hit the water and enjoy some low impact cross training!
