Welfare Wednesday
Welfare Wednesday!
Welcome to August, this month we are going to be focusing on the signs, symptoms and coping strategies of Dementia and Alzheimer’s 🧠
Lots of people may not totally understand the difference between the two…
Dementia
This is an umbrella term to describe a range of neurological conditions which affect the brain and worsen over time. It includes losing the ability to think, remember and reason to levels that affect daily life and activities.
Alzheimer’s
Alzheimer’s is the most common type of dementia. It is a progressive disease which begins with mild memory loss and potentially leading to the loss of ability to carry on a conversation and respond to the environment. Alzheimer’s involves parts of the brain that control thought, memory and language.
